Privacy Policy
FISP Field is an iPhone app for facade inspectors, operated by Murat
Salcigil in New York. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app collects, where it
goes, and how to remove it.
Short version: your inspections are yours. Nothing is sold, nothing is
advertised against, there is no tracking, and you can delete everything from inside the app in
two taps.
What we collect
- Account information. Your email address, and a password stored only as a
salted hash — we never see or store the password itself. Optionally your name and firm if you
enter them at sign-up.
- Inspection content you create. Building names and addresses, elevation
images, condition photographs, the notes you type or dictate, and any SAFE / SWARMP / UNSAFE
tag you apply.
- Nothing else. No location data, no contacts, no advertising identifiers,
no behavioural analytics, no third-party trackers.
How your notes are processed by AI
This is the part most policies gloss over, so here it is precisely.
- When you save a note, the text of that note is sent to Anthropic's Claude
API to be rewritten into clearer, report-ready language. Your photographs are
not sent.
- The request goes through our own server so the API key is never on your phone.
- Anthropic does not use inputs submitted through its API to train its models.
The text is processed to produce the response and is not retained by us beyond your own record.
- The cleanup rewrites only. It is instructed never to add a condition, measurement, material,
location or severity that you did not state. If a note contains no substantive observation, it
is returned unchanged and flagged as needing detail.
- If you would rather no note text left the device, do not use the app for that note — type
the final wording yourself and it is still stored and exported normally.
Where your data is stored
- On your phone first. Everything you capture is written to the device
immediately. The app never waits on a connection to record an inspection.
- Cloud backup is manual. Nothing leaves the phone until you tap Back Up.
- When you do, records and photographs go to our Supabase project hosted in the United States
(US East). Photographs sit in private storage under a folder keyed to your account, and database
rules restrict every row to the account that owns it. No other user can read your inspections.
Who else can see it
Two service providers, both acting on our behalf:
- Supabase — authentication, database and photo storage.
- Anthropic — note text cleanup only, as described above.
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or hand it to anyone else, except where we
are legally required to.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists. Delete the account and it goes.
Deleting your data
In the app: Settings → Delete account. That permanently removes your
account, every building, elevation, pin, note and photograph — on the device and in the cloud. It
cannot be undone, and there is a confirmation step before it runs.
Reports you have already exported and shared are files on your own device; those are yours to
manage.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Photo storage is private, not public. Database access is
restricted per account. No system is perfect, and we will tell affected users promptly if
something goes wrong.
Children
FISP Field is a professional tool and is not directed at anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes and the app will point to the
updated version.
